Richard Appiah Akoto, teacher at the Sekyedomase NA Junior High School in the Ashanti region of Ghana, was so passionate about teaching his students ICT, that he enlisted his creativity and imagination to do it, without having a single computer at his disposal.

After Richard’s photograph went viral, multinational corporations donated all the necessary equipment to establish a computer lab at his school, giving students the chance to acquire at least the basic skills in the use of computers.

To reward this teacher’s innovative thinking, and creativity UNICAF awarded him a full scholarship to pursue a Master’s in Education with Unicaf University, and gave him a free tablet to facilitate his online studies. Because quality education can make the world a better place for all.
