Youths  bear the brunt of  the high  unemployment rates than the rest of the Kenyan population.  According to the talent report, youths aged 18-19 and 20-24 years had unemployment rates of 25 percent and 24 percent, respectively—about double the overall unemployment of 12.7 percent for the entire working-age group. Clearly the number of job seekers in Kenya greatly overwhelms the existing number of job opportunities in the market.

Brighter Monday analysed recruitment trends over the past 3 years and came up with the following Talent report that give incisive exploratory insights into the local employment industry.

    • Hello Mustafa,

Thank you for writing to us.
Different vacancies have different academic requirements. Some employers require degrees, others need diplomas and others can even take certificates. Some employers prefer hands-on skills and technical know how to papers. The preference differs from industry to industry.
