{"id":11991,"date":"2025-11-28T14:12:57","date_gmt":"2025-11-28T12:12:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brightermonday.co.ke\/discover\/?p=11991"},"modified":"2025-12-19T14:23:00","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T12:23:00","slug":"empowerher-career-biz-clinic-machakos-she-works-she-builds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.brightermonday.co.ke\/discover\/empowerher-career-biz-clinic-machakos-she-works-she-builds","title":{"rendered":"EmpowerHer Career &amp; Biz Clinic Machakos: She Works, She Builds"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On 3rd October 2025, <em>BrighterMonday Kenya<\/em>, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation\u2019s GenKazi program, hosted the EmpowerHer Career &amp; Biz Clinic in Machakos Town \u2014 a catalytic one-day experience dedicated to unlocking dignified and inclusive work opportunities for women, youth, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Held under the theme <strong>\u201cShe Works, She Builds: From Opportunity to Impact in Shaping Machakos Workforce,\u201d <\/strong>the event brought together over 300 young women, including 25 PWDs and 30 mothers with young children, for a full day of learning, mentorship, and connection. The resounding message: women are builders of Kenya\u2019s future economy, and inclusion must move from principle to practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants shared stories of resilience and ambition, reminding all in attendance that when women access dignified work and entrepreneurship pathways, entire communities thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Learnings_and_the_Road_Ahead\"><\/span><strong>Learnings and the Road Ahead<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Machakos edition offered key takeaways for future EmpowerHer Clinics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Better timing and pacing to allow for deeper mentorship and practical learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhanced digital registration to streamline entry and data collection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Greater emphasis on AI-powered career planning and entrepreneurship coaching linked to real job placements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite logistical challenges, teamwork and flexibility from the BrighterMonday Kenya team ensured high-quality execution and meaningful impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Ripple_Effect\"><\/span><strong>The Ripple Effect<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The EmpowerHer Career &amp; Biz Clinic reinforced a clear truth: <strong>when women are equipped with tools, mentorship, and access to opportunity, they don\u2019t just find work they create it. <\/strong>The event ignited collaborations that will continue to shape the Machakos workforce ecosystem long after the tents came down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As BrighterMonday Kenya and the Mastercard Foundation look ahead to future editions in West Pokot and Mombasa, the commitment remains strong: <strong>to empower women, include everyone, and build an economy where every woman can say with pride: <em>She Works.
