Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Obtaining and analysing quotations, proposals or bids in line with qualities and procedures/procurement policy
  2. Preparing purchase orders and following up on deliveries
  3. Managing transport allocations within the office and ensure that the vehicles are properly maintained and serviced
  4. Maintaining fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance cost
  5. Keeping and maintaining appropriate procurement records
  6. Preparing the relevant reports in view of the scope of work
  7. Ensuring that procurement requests are justified and within defined specifications and budgetary allocation
  8. Data verification, particularly for invoicing purposes and check validity of invoices sent by suppliers
  9. Managing all office supplies especially stationeries, repairs & maintenance and other consumables
  10. Supporting the other departments as necessary


Qualifications and Competences

  • Degree in Purchasing & Supplies
  • Higher Diploma in purchasing and supplies is an added advantage
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in Agribusiness
  • Good negotiation skills, Interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Computer literate especially proficiency in MS Office computer packages and ERP software
  • Proper understanding of imports, customs procedures and related documentation
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects
  • High level of integrity with excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision and proactive
  • Full Member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) and or the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS-UK)
