The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving the business development strategy by actively identifying and generating new business through strategic sales pitches, focusing on existing clients with a view of generating more revenue, increase brand loyalty, improve customer satisfaction and maintain a good working relationship with new contacts.

REPORTING LINE: The position reports to the Group CEO

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Driving the Group’s Strategy to achieve (and surpass) sales, profitability and cash-flow goals and objectives;
  • Actively identifying and generating new business through strategic sales pitches, focusing on existing clients with a view of generating additional revenue, increase brand loyalty, and improve customer satisfaction and build brand loyalty in the respective businesses
  • Building relationships with existing clients in an attempt to increase their current spend
  • Creating, negotiating and closing agreements for new business
  • Communicating new product developments to prospective clients
  • Devising and implementing the strategy for meeting sales performance targets
  • Generating a pipeline of leads
  • Monitoring business and economic trends
  • Preparation of Business Plans
  • Planning and preparing presentations
  • Developing business relationships and networks with other industry professionals
  • Providing management with feedback

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Marketing/Business option) or Equivalent and Higher Diploma in Sales and Business Management
  • 8 years relevant experience 3 of which should be at managerial position; Sales and marketing experience
  • Good business sense and financial planning
  • Strategy development and implementation
  • A deep understanding of marketing principles
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
