eLengo is looking for a full-time employee located near Nairobi to help manage customer service and community growth efforts.

Job Description

The candidate must be located near Nairobi but will be able to work remotely 2-3 days per week once the responsibilities are managed appropriately. This position will begin as a 3-month contract starting in March or April 2020. This role will not be easy and will test your abilities to grow/adapt to new challenges.

We do this by offering both free and affordable online education and extension to small scale farmers across Africa. Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Managing eLengo’s day to day customer service efforts by answering questions and troubleshooting any platform access issues, including but not limited to: 

    • 10+ customer phone calls daily 

    • 50-100+ Whatsapp inquires 

    • 10-20+ messages from social media platforms 

    • 10-20+ eLengo platform community messages 

  • Leading our community growth efforts:

    • Monitoring the platform to ensure eLengo experts answer questions promptly.

    • Posting articles, videos, stories etc. about agriculture on our platform.

    • Starting interesting conversations and testing new ideas that will increase engagement.

  • Once you get an understanding of the above, you will then help our team automate these responsibilities with chatbots and virtual call assistants. 

  • Expect this role to continue to grow and adapt to the needs of the company.

Qualifications & Experience 

  • A degree in Business, IT, or Agriculture

  • A good understanding of the agriculture industry and its potential in Africa 

  • Fluent in both English and Kiswahili

  • 3+ years of experience in a customer service related role

  • Experience using social media platforms (WhatsApp, Facebook, Online Forums)

  • Access to a laptop and a quality internet connection

  • Sufficient in the use of GSuite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive) and Slack or other team communication platform

  • Bonus - Social media, Advertising, Graphic design experience
