Job Description

The Africa Digital Media Institute (ADMI) is a leading creative media and technology training institution, offering practical courses in Mobile Apps & Game Development, Film & TV Production, Music Production, Sound Engineering, Animation & Motion Graphics, Graphic Design, Journalism & Multimedia, Digital Marketing, Photography, Multimedia, and Digital Marketing. A truly pan-African institution, ADMI hosts over 350 students from more than 10 countries at its Nairobi campus.

ADMI combines high-spec technical training in creative media and technology with intensive digital and soft-skills coaching, along with a rigorous apprenticeship process, to achieve a 90% work placement rate. Collectively, ADMI and its Foundation and Studios form an innovative learn-and-work social enterprise whereby young creatives get the training, mentorship and resources they need to turn their passion into a profession.

ADMI aims to double its student body in 2018 and is currently undertaking a search to recruit a Data Management Officer. The Officer is responsible for ensuring ADMI collects relevant data and uses that data to drive ongoing improvement. 

The Officer must be:

  • Detailed oriented

  • Create efficient data management systems and dashboards

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and Google Forms

  • Create well-structured and visually appealing PPT presentations

  • Disaggregate and synthesize data in order to derive actionable insights

  • Exceptional analytical and writing skills

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Self-starter

The Officer will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting student, teacher, parent, and alumni data, which will include the following tasks:

  1. Work with the Associate Registrar and Finance Department to ensure student, and parent data on our school management system is up-to-date and accurate. Report on student enrollment, deferment, retention rates, and graduation rates.

  2. Keep up-to-date faculty data. Using specific criteria, report on how the quality of faculty is improving over time.

  3. Analyze termly parents survey and course evaluations. Report changes over time and articulate actionable insights for improvement.

  4. Create systems for course evaluations to feed directly into faculty performance reviews

  5. Analyze student performance across 150 units and trends regarding student performance

  6. Maintain contact with our alumni and create report on annual alumni survey.

  7. Synthesize data into termly Board presentations.

  8. Create data tools that automatically synthesize data into dashboards

  9. Data crunching, analysis and visualization for marketing

  10. Design and coordinate internal and external surveys, including data collecting and cleaning.

  11. Ensure records are preserved, including proper physical and online filing, mapping and digitization
