Mr. Green Africa is a fast-growing startup established in 2014 in Nairobi, Kenya. We are a young, dynamic and committed team who believe in changing the perception of waste. We use technology along our value chain to trade recycled material while achieving tangible social and environmental impact. We currently operate in three counties and plan to cover all of Kenya by 2021.
Mr. Green Africa is looking for an experienced Financial Manager & Controller to oversee all functions of our finance and controlling department. He/she will be responsible to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as preparing all relevant KPIs for the business.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Creating financial and business reports for internal and external stakeholders, such as unit economics, departmental expenditures, budget vs. actual expenditure/revenue comparison, monthly financial reports (P&L, BS, Cash statement), revenue forecasts etc.
Monitoring & evaluation of cash management, such as expense monitoring, generating weekly budgets/restrictions and analyzing cash runway rate
Managing accounts payables and receivables, making and approving payments, invoicing and ensuring accounting software is consistently up to date
Tax compliance validation including tax planning
Assist in financial modelling and financial risks/exposure analysis
Preparation of internal & external audit and coordination with external auditors
Managing accountants and enforcement of accounting policies, supervising finance team and ensuring all internal processes are followed
Any other task that shall be required by the Head of Department
BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, MBA and/or professional financial qualification (CPA, ACA or equivalent) is highly desirable
Minimum 3 years of previous work experience in controlling/finance preferably in the for-profit sector
Highly detailed oriented with a strong value for data‐driven decision making and demonstrated success in generating and analyzing financial reports
Knowledge of managerial accounting and tax compliance
Experience with Xero or comparable financial management software, PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment). Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web and Internet skills.

Strong written and oral communication skills in the English language required
