Job Description

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Sales targets achievements
  • Coordination of market scan and planning a meeting to discuss the reports
  • Concluding the sign of for existing distributors in Kenya and establish secondary sales customer database regional wise
  • Sign offs – GT Sales Team commission structure (Product wise) stating clear objectives
    • Sales Targets
    • Distribution Targets
    • Collection Targets
  • Conclude devolving of Marbles TI in at least 1 distributor regions                                  


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Planner: Develops sales plans and budgets to achieve or exceed the annual sales objectives for the GT. Monitor and control the sales budget to ensure optimum utilization of resources in the GT
  • Targets: Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota plan for various territories in support of national objectives. He/she should be able to achieve the same through;
    • Preparing an completing the planned action plans
    • Maintaining and expanding customer base by counselling regional TSIs, building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities
    • Recommending product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, tracking competitors
  • Sales: Generate sales of company products in the GT through a team of TSIs and other support team necessary to achieve or exceed the annual sales targets
  • Conformity: Conduct regular market visits to check route coverage, competitor activity and continuously search new opportunities to increase sales in the GT
  • Information: Provide distributors and customers in the GT with information about new or improved products and services to improve sales in the GT
  • Coordination: Develop and maintain an efficient distribution network to ensure the comprehensive availability of company’s products and services across the GT to achieve or exceed the sales targets, coordinate and follow up with the storehouse supervisor to ensure that adequate inventory stock of product is maintained for the GT to meet the sales delivery schedules and provide the distributors with superior levels of service and meet the needs of the customer
  • Systems: Establish and ensure that all sales administration procedures including technology-based support applications relating to the GT operations are properly implemented to support the sales teams in their efforts to accomplish the sales targets
  • Marketing support: Liaise with the marketing team to ensure that adequate marketing support by way of merchandising and promotions is available in the GT to provide brand visibility and promote sales in the GT
  • Structure: Develop the necessary Sales Management organization structure and ensure the right calibre of staffing and appropriate training to meet all job requirements. Provide leadership so that staff are well motivated and engaged to stay and contribute effectively to the organization

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 

Mandatory

  • Bachelor`s Degree in Marketing or business-related courses with at least 4years relevant experience in sales and marketing, preferably FMCG set-up.
  • Highest order of Integrity and ability to maintain strictest confidentiality
  • Credibility and management experience and flexibility to deal with people at a variety of levels
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and `people skills
  • Commitment to achieving the sales targets
  • Able to interact with stakeholders; has driven stakeholder engagement plans
  • Problem solver especially in crisis situations
  • Good reporting and sales closure skills
  • At least 7 years’ experience in a large manufacturing and distribution concern, at senior management level gained through heading various business functions
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Good communication instructional skills, effective presentation, and multicultural understanding

Advanced

  • Strategic thinker with knowledge in integrated systems, data analysis, projections, modelling and scenario planning.
  • IT, budget and report writing skills
  • Excellent self- management skills and the proven ability to meet strict targets and deadlines
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills

Desired

  • Proven experience in FMCG multinationals at management level
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experience and record of deliver working in developing markets.  Comfortable dealing with complexity and ambiguity
