The BBC Somali is looking for experienced journalists to join the team in Nairobi to work on daily Somali radio programmes and digital services. The BBC is a popular, well respected and reputable international news provider with a weekly global audience of 320 million.
The Journalists will work as part of the editorial/production team in Nairobi for BBC Somali and will meet the BBC’s high editorial standards. They will be responsible for the clear and engaging reporting or presentation of the daily radio programme. On a daily basis they will report to a Senior Journalist. Shift work will be required which could include early/late shifts, weekends, public holidays and night-shift.
If you are an experienced storyteller or journalist with an excellent command of the Somali language including its literature and grammar we would like to hear from you. We will offer training but you need to show us that you have creative ideas for radio and Digital and have desire to report the news in a fair and unbiased way for a Somali audience.
