Reporting to the CEO , the main functions of the Loans Manager will entail;
i. Ensure that the credit/loan policy both BOSA and Microcredit is strictly adhered to in loan processing.
ii. Perform appraisal of loans and work out members’ entitlement and amount granted.
iii. Recommend loan application to be forwarded to credit committee for approval.
iv. Reject loans and explain reasons for the same for ratification by the credit committee.
v. Responsible for the preparation of files for the credit committee meeting and minutes in such meetings.
vi. Attend to members queries as concerns loans applications.
vii. Advice management through the Chief Executive Officer on demands for loans.
viii. Assist the credit committee in developing sound credit policies.
ix. Ensure that members whose applications have been deferred or rejected from loan office for not conforming to the loans policy are promptly advised.
x. Ensures that all members’ correspondences on loans, withdrawals and membership are promptly attended to.
xi. Growing non-withdrawable deposits/savings.
xii. Maintaining loan register.
xiii. Maintaining guarantors’ records.
xiv. Ensure efficient and prompt recovery of loans disbursed and interest accrued.
xv. Maintaining confidentiality of members’ loan information.
xvi. Drafting demand notices to loan defaulters.
xvii. Preparation of monthly insurance premium schedule for submission to the insurance company.
xviii. Preparation and generation of loan schedules and statements.
xix. Preparing monthly reports for the Board.
xx. Ensuring that all loans comply with lending regulations and policies of the Society; and
xxi. Any other lawful duties as may be assigned from time to time.
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
I. A Business related degree or its equivalent from a recognized university and CPA 2 or its equivalent or CPA 2 and has satisfactorily served as a Loans Officer in the Society or a comparable position with similar responsibilities in a Sacco or in a similar organization.
II. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
III. A diploma in Cooperative Management will be an added advantage.
IV. Have demonstrated high financial management capability and investment.
V. Have good knowledge of information Technology.
