Reporting to the CEO , the main functions of the Marketing Manager will entail;
i. The development and roll out of an annual marketing strategy aimed at growing the membership of the Sacco. Specific duties will include; member recruitment, creating visibility of the Sacco and identification of potential recruitment grounds etc.
ii. Identifies marketing opportunities by identifying member’s needs/requirements; defining market, competitor’s share, and competitors strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
iii. Improves Sacco product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities; improving product packaging; coordinating new product development.
iv. Prepare and coordinate implementation of Media and Public Relation plan to create awareness.
v. Promote a positive image of the Organization.
vi. To manage and maintain positive relationships with members and Sacco partners.
vii. To support the overall marketing objectives of the Sacco both internally and externally.
viii. To develop promotional ideas and identify related opportunities from conception through to delivery.
ix. Ensure that members’ queries are answered and feedback done effectively.
x. Prepares mailers and brochures by formatting content and graphics; arranging printing and internet packages.
xi. Prepares marketing reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing sales data.
xii. Come up with a marketing plan and give a budget.
xiii. Gaining a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements ; and
xiv. Attend trade shows and events to market the society develop, designing and brand new competitive and customer driven products for the society.
xv. Advising on forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions and activities.
xvi. Coordinate marketing seminars and members’ awareness.
xvii. Marketing Society’s products and services.
xviii. Undertaking sales promotion, establishment of market networks for product/services, technical evaluation of customer needs and complaints.
xix. Maintaining and tracking relationships with existing customers.
xx. Attend to customers’ queries and complaints.
xxi. Capture information on shares variation when in the field.
xxii. Any other lawful duties as may be assigned from time to time.
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
1) Bachelor Degree of Commerce in Marketing or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; or has satisfactorily served in the grade of Sales executive or comparable position with similar responsibilities in the Society or in a similar organization(s) for a minimum of three (3) years.
2) 5 years relevant experience.
3) A diploma in Cooperative Management or Mass Communication or Public Relations will be an added advantage.
