Job Description

Department: Projects 

Reports to: Head of Projects



Responsibilities:

Project Scoping

  1. Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client
  2. Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work and prepare quotations
  3. Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies
  4. Perform risk, value management and cost control
  5. Advise on a procurement strategy for projects
  6. Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
  7. Prepare and analyse costings for tenders
  8. Allocate work to subcontractors
  9. Provide advice on contractual claims
  10. Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
  11. Value completed work and arrange payments
  12. Maintain awareness of the different contracts for our clients and ensure the full implementation
  13. Understand the implications of health and safety regulations 

Project Management

  1. Organize work activities and meet with Supervisors to review project goals/milestones and progress to ensure timelines are being met.
  2. Prepare reports for Directors or Clients show key project metrics such as actual cost vs. budget etc.
  3. Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports.
  4. Assemble and forward project closeout documents to the Head of Projects.
  5. Undertake client presentations


Qualifications:
  • A Degree in a Quantity Surveying
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Have strong numerical and financial management skills, a practical mind and interested in technological changes in building trends
