Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTIONS OF QUARRY GENERAL MANAGER

1.    Directing and managing all Quarry’s activities
2.    Developing and implementing effective strategies to ensure the Quarry’s growth, sustainability and profitability
3.    Allocating, managing and regulating the quarry’s budget
4.    Recruiting, monitoring, developing and motivating staff
5.    Developing quarry’s policies and ensuring adherence to them
6.    Balancing production output and sales
7.    Reporting to the Board of directors and providing information and statistics on the quarry’s performance
8.    Developing proper communication systems, structures and culture
9.    Ensuring high production quality
10.   Keeping up to date with relevant government legislation and industry developments and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation throughout the site
11.   Ensuring up-to-date production, drilling, maintenance and sales records are well maintained
12.   Developing inspection systems and checklists
13.   Managing the production process; setting and monitoring targets
14.   Checking that all vehicles on site are maintained in good condition with all the requisite documentations
15.   Liaising with staff on site and dealing with any technical or staffing challenges that arise
16.   Developing links with local groups and organisations
17.   Providing active leadership and management of Health and Safety processes and culture to minimise risk in all operations activities

Qualifications

1.    Undergraduate degree in Operations Management, Project Management,

Business administration and any other business related field, masters degree will be an added advantage


2.    At least five years experience in a managerial position
3.    Good knowledge of different business functions
4.    Good knowledge of Computer Packages
6.    Certificate of good conduct
