12. RESEARCH ASSISTANT (CASB GRADE 7)
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Research Officer I
i. Provision of non-partisan professional research assistance and analysis to members, Committees and staff of the County Assembly to assist in the development of particular points of view.
ii. Assessing the Strength and weakness of policy options through research.
iii. Maintaining a periodically updated inventory of publications on current legislation and major public policy issues/ questions.
iv. Ensuring quality control in the preparation of research papers, briefing notes and particular points of view. v. Offer Technical advice to the Assembly, Committee and staff.
vi. Any other duty that may be assigned by the Clerk to the County Assembly.
i. Diploma in statistics, Social Sciences, Economics or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
ii. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
iii. Demonstrate a high degree of administrative skills and managerial competence as reflected in work performance and results.
iv. Have an experience on Library, Filling, Record keeping and information.
Computer Knowledge and Basic Statistical packages i.e. SPSS, SAS, RSTATA , Adam Soft etc.
Candidates interested in the above positions must have the following clearances:
• A Certificate of Good Conduct from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)
• A Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
• A Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
• A Certificate from Ethics & Anti-corruption Commission (EACC)
