Job Description

Supervisor:  Director

Duration of contract:  1-year contract, renewable based on performance.

Location: Nairobi


Key responsibilities

Risk Management

  1. Risk mapping to identify risk levels.
  2. Developing risk policies and procedures.
  3. Assisting in risk analysis and management activities
  4. Developing risk management strategies.
  5. Assessing potential risks and develop mitigation plans.
  6. Developing best practices for risk management and reduction programs.
  7. Providing expert solutions for in risk-related questions and concerns.
  8. Reviewing and recommending improvements to risk modeling techniques.
  9. Developing risk metrics and generate risk reports to management for review.
  10. Developing new methodologies to improve risk management efficiency.
  11. Developing Business Continuity Plans.
  12. Training in Risk Management matters.
  13. Stay abreast of the latest developments in the risk analysis field.

Client related work (clients to be allocated based on signed contracts)

  1. Preparation of client accounts on any client system (Quick Books, Pastel or any other system).
  2. Meeting with clients to discuss financial statements and management accounts.
  3. Preparation of all statutory returns for the clients.
  4. Filing client statutory returns as provided by the law.
  5. Follow up with for payments from all clients.
  6. Prepare client accounts for audit.
  7. Undertaking internal audit assignments for clients.
  8. Documentation of policy procedures.
  9. Undertaking grants related tasks as per client requirements.
  10. Undertaking financial reviews.
  11. Conducting training for clients.
  12. Perform any related duties and special projects as requested by the Director.

Internal related work

  1. Assisting in the preparation for proposals for work.
  2. Filing internal statutory returns as provided by the law.
  3. Assisting in responding to website requests.
  4. Preparation of internal payroll and payments.
  5. Providing daily updates on proposals, payment and other related financial status updates.
  6. Assist in the preparation of budgets, plans, and manuals.
  7. Monitor commitments, budgets, and plans on a day to day basis.
  8. Assist in setting up internal controls.
  9. Preparation of monthly reports.
  10. Any other responsibility that may be assigned by the Director.



Academic and professional qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, ICT, Economics or related Field.
  • Any Risk Qualifications is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Experience in Accounting, Risk or Audit for two to three years.
  • Experience in a consulting firm.
