With offices in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and Mauritius, ROCKET is a market leader in the supply of top-quality POS items and marketing merchandise. The company’s clients are the major brands across Africa.

Position Summary
ROCKET is seeking a talented individual to engage with its clients in the Nairobi, Kenya office under the position of Sales Executive. This person should have 3+ years of working experience in sales, be an excellent communicator, and have the creative competency to develop tailored client product pitches. The Sales Executive will be the face of the company, so the individual must have a likeable personality, fresh ideas, and a motivation to serve clients effectively and consistently. The role will involve 50-70% of the time in the field meeting with clients and 30-50% of the time in the office creating proposals, researching products, and communicating with clients. The Sales Executive will always be in tune with clients’ needs, supporting them with product ideas during planning periods, quotes during budgeting season, and products when orders are being made.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Product sales – Drive sales by properly positioning products to clients and proposing concepts that support the use of the promotional merchandise and POS items.
  2. Client engagement - Strengthen existing relationships with ROCKET's clients and establish relationships with new clients by actively being in the field to engage with clients and add value to them by serving their needs.
  3. Customer service – Boost the company’s customer service by developing systems and communication methods with clients that enable Rocket to better meet their needs.
  4. Product proposals – Develop customized product proposals for clients that are relevant to their upcoming marketing campaigns and promotions.
  5. Idea creation – Deliver creative and innovative ideas that can favorably serve the brands of the company’s clients.
  6. Reporting – Maintain close communication with the Sales Manager to ensure that objectives are being met and the company’s vision is being followed.

Qualifications Required
ROCKET is seeking someone who is self-motivated, relational, and passionate about his/her work in this marketing field. This individual will have strong communication skills, an optimistic attitude, a propensity to serve others and the focus required to execute the company’s objectives.  
In addition, qualified applicants should ideally have the following: 
  • Bachelor’s degree from a credible university.
  • Business experience and track record of five or more years in an environment that has provided opportunities for the individual to work with clients, operate under tight deadlines, and develop ideas from concept stage.
  • Computer skills that enable this person to effectively market Rocket using social media platforms.
  • Experience in a sales-related position.
