Develops sales strategies and approaches for various products and services, such as special promotions, sponsored events, etc. Lead and motivate the team in achieving targets, communicating new product developments to prospective clients

Job Description

Reports To:  Chief Executive Officer
  • Sales executives
  • Sales representatives
  • Counter sales assistant.

Primary Objectives & Targets:
  1. 25% Market Share in Rigid Plastic Packaging Supply – Longer term Company Goal
  2. First preference supplier for all existing customers.
  3. Company Brand exposure 100%.  All potential customers must know of Afroplast
  4. Achieve sales orders to book production capacities above 95%
  5. Minimum growth on volumes on every existing customer – 15% per annum, average
  6. Average Debtor days shall be maintained at less than 45 days.

Key Performance Indicators:
  1. Sales revenue in value and volume VS Budget
  2. Average realization per kg
  3. Overdue Debtors Value
  4. Number of new customers added in and total additional volume of business brought in

Principal Responsibly: 
  • Manage, coordinate and control of all Sales and Marketing department’s activities, including: 
    • Planning, reviewing and managing all daily and weekly activities within the department
    • Departmental goal setting
    • Team members performance appraisal
    • Empowering team members
    • Enhancing individual performance
    • Training of all team members
  • Be instrumental in the establishment of 3 to 5 years business plan
  • Prepare annual sales budget with product-wise and customer-wise forecasting
    • Discuss with top line customers and identify their projection of growth for internal capacity planning and capital investment decisions.
  • Achieve the annual budgeted sales revenue and volume
  • Review pricing of all products on quarterly basis to maintain profitability
  • Manage and enhance the Client Relationships for all existing and potential clients
  • Conduct market survey perpetually and systematically and report on trends and findings, and, to identify new products for development
  • Report to and update the Executive on all activities, including: 
    • New product development requirement, 
    • Need for capital investment based on current market trend and future projections, 
    • Market competition, performance, addition or reduction of competitors, etc. 
  • Expand the customer base in both domestic and export market
  • Manage and resolve all customer complaints, including management of inter departmental coordination for initiating corrective actions.
    • Record, analyze and present (report on) all customer complaints during monthly review meeting
  • Establish and evaluate customer satisfaction through structured mechanism
  • Collect all overdue payments
  • Coordinate with Manager Stores for the timely delivery of goods to various customers
  • Coordinate with Production Engineer / In Charge for prioritization of production and also on customer complaints. 
  • Ensure development, implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems, its improvements and adherence to International Standards with respect to sales function
  • Take care of company properties that come across during the course of normal duties.

  1. Budget Variance Analysis - Monthly
  2. Sales Visits Plan VS Actual – Weekly
  3. Debtors Collection Plan VS Actual – Weekly
  4. Customer Visit Report – Daily
  5. Customer Complaint Register – Daily
  6. Business Development Strategic Plan VS Actual - Monthly

Candidate requirement:
  1. Post graduate qualification specialized in marketing management
  2. Candidate should have 8 to 10 years of professional experience in the area of Sales and Marketing
  3. Should be in similar position for at least last 3 years and should have proven track of record, and evidence of all achievements
  4. Preferably from plastic industry background, with engineering qualification as an advantage
  5. Should be analytical and understand the complexity of pricing and profitability areas
  6. Must be innovative towards product development
  7. Aggressive, target oriented and must be a good team player focused on continual growth
  8. Must be a strategic planner and goal setter with long term vision and objective
  9. Good communication skill is required
  10. Candidate must be willing to travel around the country in case of need
