As part of this backbone, you support the strategic decision making by ensuring the right questions are answered in the right sequence. Reporting into the Group CEO, you quantify our businesses’ value creation and increase our yield through translating data into insights and action. Clearly focused on top-line growth, you champion the group’s CRM and drive sales process improvements.

Reporting into: Group CEO

Key Responsibilities
Functional, on Group or Business level:
  1. Analyze customer segments in our markets and define strategic priorities for ROAM’s local operations
  2. Prioritize projects to increase the Group’s yield: Quantify our market potentials for our core products and ancillary products along the vertical value chains. Measure the value our businesses is generating for our users, and put into perspective with the returned value 
  3. Assess the effectiveness of the product and pricing strategies, as well as selling strategies in our markets. Define best practices for online marketplace monetization strategies in emerging markets
  4. Provide for statistical analysis of market economics and our place in those, including macro-economic, traffic or conversion statistics
  5. Ensure cohesive Core Value Propositions of our businesses in each market, by asking the right questions in the right sequence
  6. Drive good customer segmentation of the businesses and analyze revenue streams and product effectiveness
  7. Based on business intelligence insights, analyze purchase behaviour and Identify ideal product pricing and bundling
  8. Ensure best application of Group CRM to enable sales process improvements and insights
  9. Drive sales reporting enabled and automated by the group CRM
  10. Analyze sales workflows and performances and give tactical optimization recommendations to both business and tech (e.g. CRM)
  11. Own strategic ad-hoc projects relevant to the Group’s mission
Organizational:
  1. Prepare and drive the group and local strategic planning processes together with the Group CEO, incl. New market entry analysis
  2. Prioritize analyses, define projects and implement together with the local business leader
  3. Ensure regular feedback loops with all stakeholders to ensure effective action
  4. Establish and promote knowledge sharing in the business and create a cross-pollen effect by analysing and implementing best practices
Reporting:
  1. Deliver regular yield management progress reports 
  2. Deliver regular progress on the group’s strategic progress 
  3. Drive reporting of segmentation over time, analyzing the strategy implementation 
  4. Own ROAM business intelligence / market insight updates
  5. Own the Group’s monthly management report

Skills and competencies

  • 2 years of work experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally in management consulting or similar
  • Proven project management skills
  • Outstanding academic record
  • Strong quantitative skills and ability to make decisions and recommendations based on large amounts of data
  • Passion for digital products and translating digital into the real world
  • Basic experience with operational systems (e.g. GA, CRM, etc) a plus
  • Strong team player with passion for transforming African markets
