Job Description

About the Role

This ideal candidate for the role is a product development strategist who will develop products by identifying potential products; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction; as well as developing market entry strategies.


  1. Daily Market Intelligence: Develop routines and processes for effectively gathering daily market data on wholesale and retail prices for different products and generate relevant reports to give insights on proper product prices
  2. Research & Development: Conduct market research on all new and potential products to establish trading patterns including but not limited to pricing, volumes, SKU demand by market segment. Plot and map sales performance against set market research findings on pricing to highlight variances between the company and other traders
  3. Products Design & Development: Evaluate and resolve technical feasibility, design optimization and product issues ensuring that product marketing and promotion march product specification and customer expectations. Develop and execute product knowledge and training sessions with sales teams and management to better assist the sales teams execute sales in the trade in line with customer demands 
  4. Demand Planning: Work closely with the Regional Business Development team and Supply Chain in planning demand defining orders based on quantity and quality profile and tied to price to better guide the supply chain team’s work
  5. Customer Feedback: Develop direct and indirect customer feedback channels and systems that allow for further qualitative information to be analyzed for the purpose of developing marketing strategies to support accurate, precise and timely order generation

Does this sound like you?

  • 3+ years experience in a Sales focused organizations leveraging on marketing skills, developing sales channels to drive customer engagement and drive up orders
  • Experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, distribution, retail and FMCG organizations preferred
  • Bachelors of Commerce Degree or equivalent
  • Digitally Savvy with a focus on Data Analysis, Metrics and Insights
