Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of our esteemed client, is seeking a passionate and qualified
accountant to join a reputable Organization. The accountant will play a key role in ensuring our
financial records are accurate, reconciliations are well-managed, and communication across the organization is clear and effective.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day accounting transactions including general ledger entries, accounts payable,
accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly (and where applicable) annual reconciliations and reports to ensure
accuracy of financial data.
• Maintain and reconcile key financial ledgers, ensuring that all balances are supported,
documented, and compliant with internal policies.
• Use and maintain accounting software (including Tally) for recording and reporting financial
transactions.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to build, maintain and analyze spreadsheets, generate reports (e.g.,
summaries, dashboards, reconciliations) and support decision-making.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders including operations, procurement, finance to ensure that
financial records, reports and reconciliations are timely and accurate.
• Assist with month-end closing processes, ensuring that all entries, adjustments, accruals and
reconciliations are completed and approved.
• Support audits or financial reviews by preparing required documentation, liaising with auditors
and adhering to compliance requirements.
• Identify opportunities for improving accounting procedures, enhancing efficiency and reducing
risk.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and management, explaining financial data in a way that is understood by non-finance stakeholders.
Qualifications
✓ Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in accounting or finance.
✓ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field (or
equivalent practical experience).
✓ Familiarity with local regulatory requirements and accounting practices in Rwanda.
✓ Practical experience working with Tally accounting software.
✓ Strong accounting and reconciliation skills demonstrated ability to reconcile ledgers, accounts
and financial records accurately and timely.
✓ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel i.e. ability to create spreadsheets, use formulas, sort/filter,
perhaps pivot tables.
✓ High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity in financial reporting.
