Sensei Limited, a construction company is looking for an administrative Accountant.

Job Description

The job holder MUST have the following
-   Musthave Over 3 years’ experience as an administrative accountant with evidence of playing both roles
-    Must be a Bcom holder and/ or a CPA K holder with administrative training
-    Previous experience  in working in a construction firm will be an added advantage
-    Job location: Kitengela
We are looking for an Accountant who will also be able to perform extensive administrative duties and Audit.

A). Accounting Roles
• Processing payables, reviewing expenditures, contracts and administrative budgets, ensuring that costs are checked against budgets and are in compliance
• Preparing, sending and storing invoices, delivery notes, quotations and LPOs
• Record day today financial transactions (payment and receipts) and complete the posting process
• Ensure timely filing of statutory obligations (NHIF, NSSF, PAYE)
• Maintenance of Accounts receivables/ payables
• Payroll processing
• Provide supporting documentation for audits
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts
• Preparation of general journals and financial statements (P&l, balance sheet)
• Ensue proper maintenance of efficient filing systems
• Petty cash management
• Ensuring compliance with relevant financial laws and regulations.
• Preparing tax returns and ensuring that taxes are paid accurately and on time

2). Administrative Roles
• Maintaining office leases and amendments, keep track of utilities and insurances and due payment dates.
• Overseeing office supplies: ordering, inventory management
• Ensure financial systems and controls are in place within the office
• Coordinating office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies
• Maintaining and updating staff contracts and files.
• Supervising administrative staff and dividing responsibilities to ensure performance
• Actively participate in tender preparation whenever required
• Keeping government certification annual renewals up to date

3). Audit Roles
• Provide supporting documentation for audit
• Undertake internal audit of accounts



• Proven work experience as an Accountant and an office administrator or similar role (2-3 years’ experience)
• Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and debt collection regulations
• Hands-on experience with accounting software
• Advanced knowledge of Excel (using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets)
• Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors
• Exceptional understanding of Microsoft office
• Exceptional reporting and filing skills
• Knowledge of tenders will be an added advantage
• Good organizational and time-management abilities
• Outstanding interpersonal skills.
