A. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, LIVESTOCK AND FISHERIES
7. Agriculture Officer (JOB GROUP CPSB 09) (2 POSTS)
The Agriculture Officers will be deployed at the Sub-County Level as Subject Matter Specialists. They will be responsible to the Sub-County Agriculture Officer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Assist in the dissemination of new technologies through Community Mobilization, Sensitization and Capacity Building/Farmer Training.
ii. Assist in the implementation of National and County Agriculture Programmes at Sub-County Level.
iii. Collect Agriculture information and maintain databases.
iv. Participation in planning and budgeting.
v. Prepare regular and periodic technical reports.
vi. Providing technical backstopping toward Extension Officers and Farmers
vii. Collaborating with relevant stakeholders in implementation of Agriculture programmes.
viii. Participating and Organization of the Exhibitions, Trade Fairs, Shows and field days.
ix. Information sourcing and dissemination.
x. Any other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
i. Must be a Degree Holder in any of the following disciplines from a recognized University or any other relevant Institution.
✓ General Agriculture
✓ Farm Management
✓ Horticulture
✓ Agriculture Education and Extension
ii. Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
iii. Must have served as a Subject Matter Specialist in the Grade of Assistant Agriculture Officer for a minimum of three (3) years.
iv. Computer Literate.
v. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity.
a) Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
b) Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
c) Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
d) Clearance from the Ethics &Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
e) Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
