Job Description/Requirements

The Assistant Project Manager will be required to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
•    Providing leadership to the construction team as guided by Projects Manager.
•    Advising the administration through the Project Manager on site visits and progress evaluation.
•    Liaise with quality assessment manager and Project Manager on quality of work and timelines.
•    Manage the day- to- day working, utilization of materials and equipment, and implementation of the whole project and give updates as required.
•    Provide clear and accurate budgets for all needs for the project, including materials, equipment and labor
•    Supervise all casuals, masons and carpenters and any other persons involved in any work at the site.
•    Inspection of the works in progress while ensuring quality and efficiency. 
•    In liaison with Project Manager, implement the Environmental management plan (EMP) as spelled out in the EIA report for the project.
•    Carry out any other duties as assigned by the management.
•    Ensure that all construction projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
•    Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
•    Develop a detailed construction project plan to monitor and track progress as guided by the project manager.
•    Report and escalate to the Senior Management Team as needed through the project manager.
•    Perform risk management to minimize project risks
•    Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation through regular site meetings and sharing the minutes and all deliberations with SMT through the project manager.
•    Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels.
•    Liaising with both the Procurement and Stores in acquisition of approved materials in a timely manner as directed by project manager.
•    Develop materials needed for the construction project by making requisition in a timely manner
•    Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
•    Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
•    Ensuring the institution meets health, safety and environmental required standards in all projects and complies with all legislations which are in tandem with community expectations and Government regulations.
•    Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency in project work.
•    Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs as directed by the project manager.
•    Supervising and overseeing contractors involved in the projects and delivery of services in a timely manner as directed by the project manager.
•    He/she will report directly to the project manager on a daily basis.
•    Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:
•    Proven working experience in handling multiple projects
•    Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
•    Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
•    Any Project Management Professional certification will be an added advantage
•    Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
