Job Description/Requirements

We are looking for a Bar and Restaurant Manager for one of Nairobi’s top bar and restaurants. Our ideal candidate has at least 3 years of restaurant management experience and is passionate about great customer service. All candidates should be available to work within opening hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Our restaurant manager will be the right-hand person to our senior management and keep the restaurant running smoothly. They will help minimize operating costs, be a culture champion and deliver a positive dining experience for all of our guests.


Responsibilities

• Coordinate communication between front of the house and back of the house staff

• Supervise kitchen and wait staff and provide assistance, as needed

• Arrange for new employees’ proper onboarding (scheduling trainings and ordering uniforms)

• Monitor compliance with safety and hygiene regulations

• Gather guests’ feedback and recommend improvements to our menus

• Supervise efficient working of departments and assigned shift, administer pre-meal meeting and rectify all service of staff.

• Perform regular inspection of food and beverage preparation and presentation and maintain inventory to enhance sales.

• Maintain and ensure compliance to established food quality and standards

• Coordinate with General Manager for everyday operation and maintain financial and administrative records.

• Assist employee teams to provide excellent customer service.

• Maintain proper sanitation, hygiene standards in kitchen and maintain effective store presentation.

• Coordinate with team to meet sales target, ensure customer satisfaction and follow company procedures to increase productivity.

• Conduct inventory stock take and keep detailed records

• Supervise our steward team to keep our restaurant perfectly clean

• Create curriculums and manage ongoing training for all employees

• Help GM with scheduling and leave day planning


Requirements

• 3 years work experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry is preferred

• Good math and reporting skills

• Great customer service attitude

• Great communication and team management abilities

• Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, holidays, weekends)

• Additional certification in hospitality is a plus
