Chief Finance Officer for a Steel Manufacturing Company, to be based in Ethiopia

Our client, one of the leading Steel Manufacturers in the region, is looking for a hands on Chief Finance Officer to be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall operations of the company’s accounts & finance including accounting, MIS, financial report preparation, stores data, insurance claims, statutory records of the Company and get it audited with internal & external auditors in time. Experience in the Steel, Construction or Manufacturing sector is a MUST ! As well as either Hindi or Gujarati speaking and Africa experience.

Key Requirements:

• Comply with the statutory requirements like VAT, Profit Tax, Withholding Tax, etc

• Complete Preparation and supervision of derived Production records of all company (daily basis) & adjustment of scrap, off-cut and consumption (daily basis)

• Preparation of monthly cost sheet for the various group companies

• Supervising, checking and submitting various MIS reports and monthly/quarterly balance sheet

• Reconcile Bank, Debtors, Creditors, Inter-company accounts, Staff Advances etc 

• Supervision and authorizing petty cash and Bank payments and maintaining appropriate record

• Supervising the preparation of expatriates Salary and its disbursement

• Designing and Implement the suitable systems and procedures for the improvement in various areas

• Preparing the budgets and do the comparative variance analysis

• Financial Planning (short term and Medium Term) submission of Monthly cash flows (Each cash flow statement shall cover a future period of six months)

• Preparing the project reports and do the cost benefit analysis

• Keeping update on the legal issues and court matters to the management on monthly basis

• Maintaining excellent relationship with financial institutions Customers, Suppliers

• Train the local and expatriate staff in due course of your employment

Qualifications

• Masters in Finance or similar

• Experience in the Steel/Construction or Manufacturing sector

• Certified Public Accountant

• 15+ Years Experience working in Finance/Accounting

• Fully proficient in Gujarati or Hindi 

• Africa experience

• Strong Managerial skills

• Excellent communication skills both oral and written

• Excellent reporting & presentation skills

• Proficient in MS office and good computer skills

Monthly gross salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Position Level: Senior Management level
