Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) is a State Corporation registered under Legal Notice Number 4 of the State Corporations Act Cap 446 in January 2019 as a Level 6 Tertiary Hospital and is now operational offering specialized referral services. The Hospital is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced professionals on a performance-based renewable contract as follows:
24. MEDICAL/ CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGISTS – V/FT/24/2021 - 3 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities
i. Taking history of the patient
ii. Conducting both individual and group psychological tests and assessment and providing appropriate therapy.
iii. Developing treatment plans
iv. Identifying patients with social psychological problem, providing psycho education to clients, families and caregivers
v. Prescribing intervention and possible referrals
vi. Testing the efficacy of both psychological and biological interventions to promote the wellbeing of patient
vii. Keeping appropriate records
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
i. Bachelor’s degree in either Medical Psychology, Health Psychology or any other relevant equivalent qualification in a health-related field from a recognized institution.
ii. Registration with relevant professional body
iii. Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
iv. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
v. Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or a relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
vi. Two years relevant working experience.
