10. Deputy Director Of Medical Services/Medical Specialist I JOB GROUP ‘Q’ (CPSB 4) (INTERNIST PHYSICIAN) - FOUR (4) POSTS ADVERT NO. 85/2020
Terms of Appointment : Permanent and Pensionable
Basic Salary : Kshs. 99,900 p.m. – Kshs. 133,870 p.m.
House Allowance : Kshs. 20,000 p.m.
Commuter Allowance : Kshs. 16,000 p.m.
Medical Cover : Comprehensive Medical Cover
a) Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have;
i. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical and Practitioners Board;
ii. Master’s degree in Internal Medicine;
iii. Certificate of registration by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
iv. Valid practice license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
v. Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution;
vi. Certificate in computer applications;
vii. Demonstrated high professional competence and managerial capability for effective planning, direction, control and coordination of community Health Extension Services; and
viii. Thorough understanding of National goals, policies, and objectives and ability to relate them to Community Health Extension Services.
b) Duties and Responsibilities
i) Formulating, implementing, interpreting, and reviewing community health policies, strategies, programmes and guidelines;
ii) Serve as a physician within the County;
iii) Promoting, collaboration and linkages with partners and stakeholders;
iv) Formulating and reviewing national research agenda for community health;
v) Mobilizing resources for implementation of community health services;
vi) Planning, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with set budgetary guidelines;
vii) Instituting operational accountability, discipline, and capacity building and performance management in the function.
