Job Description/Requirements
Operations Management:
o Oversee end-to-end business operations, including raw material procurement, processing, marketing, sales, and shipping logistics
o Lead and manage factory operations to achieve profitability.
o Develop and implement production schedules to meet output targets.
o Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to ensure timely delivery of products.
Quality Assurance:
o Ensure all macadamia products meet company and industry quality standards.
o Implement and maintain quality control systems.
o Conduct regular inspections and audits of the production process.
o Conduct after sales service to the client periodically after delivery to the port destination.
Staff Management:
o Foster a culture of continuous improvement among employees.
o Coordinate and manage employee’s performance reviews and provide feedback as necessary.
Environmental, Health and Safety:
o Develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures.
o Ensure compliance with all relevant Environment health and safety regulations.
o Implement and maintain food safety management systems to meet food safety requirements, customer needs and statutory requirements.
o Conduct regular safety training sessions for employees.
Machine/Equipment and Maintenance:
o Oversee the maintenance and repair of factory equipment.
o Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule.
o Coordinate with external service providers for specialized equipment repair.
Inventory Management:
o Manage and Monitor inventory levels of raw materials as well as finished products.
o Manage procurement of NIS through the seasons.
o Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely supply of packaging materials
o Implement inventory control systems to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
Budget Management:
o Prepare and manage the Departmental budget.
o Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
o Report on financial performance to senior management.
Process Improvement:
o Formulate and implement budgets, as well as forecasting raw material needs to maintain optimal stock levels.
o Identify areas for improvement in the production process.
o Implement lean manufacturing techniques to increase efficiency.
o Plan and manage production schedules based on sales forecasts, while ensuring compliance with government agencies and maintaining records.
o Handling all key accounts related to kernel buyers and raw material suppliers and taking on the role of food safety team leader.
Regulatory Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and standards.
o Maintain up-to-date register of all licenses and subscriptions
o Prepare for and manage external audits and inspections.
Communication:
o Liaise with support departments to ensure smooth operations.
o Communicate with senior management regarding production issues and developments.
o Represent the Department /Division in meetings with external stakeholders.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in agriculture, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a management role, preferably in the food processing industry.
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and health and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
