Job Description/Requirements
DEPARTMENT OF GOVERNANCE AND ADMINISTRATION
1. DIRECTOR — COUNTY ENFORCEMENT AND INSPECTORATE - JG CPSB 03 — REF. NO.KCPSB/0 1 /2021 /05 (I POST)
Terms of service: Three (3) years' Contract
The job holder shall be responsible to the Chief Officer Governance and Administration for enforcement of County By-Laws and ensuring security in the County Government.
Duties and responsibilities
i. Implement decisions made by the County Government;
ii. Oversee the development and implementation of security and enforcement programs in the County Government
iii. Responsible for orderly conduct of officers in the department
iv. Enforcing orders and warrants legally issued to County Law breakers
v. Audit of Inspectorate operations;
vi. Co-ordinate all Inspectorate operations;
vii. Advice the County Government on Inspectorate matters and service;
viii. Determine the distribution and deployment of the Inspectorate officers; and
ix. Manage the performance of the officers in the section.
x. Ensuring security of County offices, properties and providing VIP protection.
xi. Ensure the distribution and co-ordination between the Inspectorate and other security agencies
Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this position, a person should:
i. Be a Kenyan citizen
ii. Be a holder of a Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Security Management, Criminology and Fraud Management, Criminology and Security Studies, Criminal justice, Police Science, Military Science, Forensic Investigations and Penology, Public/Business Administration or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
iii. A master's degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage
iv. Have a minimum experience of five (5) years in a similar or related field, 3 of which must be in a senior position in a reputable organization.
v. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice system
vi. Demonstrate a thorough understanding and commitment to the values and principles outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution.
vii. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya
Salaries are as determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
