Responsibilities

Actively teach and provide a safe and stimulating learning environment. Adhere to the school’s code of conduct and ethics. Study and follow the curriculum and lesson plan as provided by the absent teacher or the principal. Apply various teaching techniques that are learner-centred. Prepare educational materials, such as notes, exercises, and additional resources Assign classwork and homework as required. Take attendance according to school policy. Grade learners’ assignments and provide constructive feedback. Keep track of students’ progress and write down information that will be useful to the regular teacher. Report any incidents regarding students’ behavior in and out of the classroom. Maintain a clean and safe class environment for students. Oversee school equipment, learning materials and ensure students use it properly. Assist learners who require more attention in academics or emotional development. Always supervise learners as required. Respond professionally to the learner’s needs. Be ready to take up other educational activities as assigned by the school management.

Qualifications

Certificate in ECDE or Diploma in ECDE. Previous experience as a part-time or full-time teacher. 2-3 Years experience of working with children is a plus. In-depth knowledge of learning techniques and teaching methods in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE). Excellent communication skills. The ability to remain patient and approachable while also maintaining an orderly classroom. Good classroom management. Great organizational skills. Residents in Nakuru are encouraged to apply.
