How we are
Over 600 million children are not learning basic literacy or numeracy. With the arrival of smartphones in Africa, for the first time in history, we will be able to reach these children with better quality education. EIDU’s mission is to educate children by providing the best ICT support and resources. Not only do we provide high quality learning experiences for children directly, we also provide counties with the right tools by bringing the EIDU learning App and Tayari Pre-Primary programme to their schools. On top of that, we are building a digital assessment method, to adequately capture the children’s learning progress and to inform us of possible improvements.

About the Role
For the role of a Coach, you will be assigned a specific cohort of schools, supporting teachers in using the EIDU platforms and maximizing the value of our app for each learner. Work hand in hand with county ECD officers in the implementation of Competency-based curriculum (CBC) through EIDU-Tayari Pre-Primary programme. You will be responsible for providing ongoing mentorship, training and performance feedback to teachers. Visit schools on a daily basis using public transport, use basic data analytics to have visibility into daily learning activity of schools and identify underperforming schools that need close support

What You will do
● Carry out learning support for pre primary education officers and teachers independently and responsibly which includes the use of digital interventions
● Train County ECD Officers and teachers in delivery of CBC using Tayari methodology for pre-primary and EIDU learning App
● Visit schools on a daily basis to provide ongoing mentorship, training and performance feedback to County ECD Officers and teachers
● Will be assigned a specific cohort of schools and support County ECD Officers and teachers in using the EIDU platforms and maximizing the value of our app for each learner.
● Carry out assessments using paper and ICT devices
● Contribute to our learning digital platforms development and materials by providing regular feedback
● Use provided data analytics, including your own classroom observations to identify and support underperforming schools through the County ECD Officers
● Assist in organizing town halls, community sessions and teacher training.

What You Should have
● Diploma in ECDE or equivalent
● Minimum of 3 years experience in coaching and training roles in the education sector.
● Great communication skills with impeccable written & spoken English and local language skills; public speaking experience preferred
● Experience in use of Tayari Methodology in delivering CBC will be an added advantage
● Experience in mentorship, training and coaching of youth and adults.
● Experience in working with (pre)primary age children
● Experience in using ICT for educational purposes
● Strong attention to detail
● Strong level of responsibility and independence
● Geographic flexibility, willing to move with the requirements of the organization
● Certificate of Good Conduct
