Overview of Position

As a city Halls Event manager your main duties include but not limited to; plan and organize promotional, business and social events.  Responsible for running a range of events, ensuring the target audience is engaged and the message of the event is marketed properly. As events play a huge part in the success of a brand or an organization.
As an event manager, you'll organize weddings, conferences, seminars and exhibitions, as well as parties and corporate events.
You'll manage the whole process from the planning stage, right through to running the event and carrying out the post-event evaluation. The role is primarily hands-on and often involves working as part of a team.

Job Description
•    Manage all aspects of an event from pre-planning, determining resource needs, pre-event marketing, and on-site coordination, to post event follow up
•    Supervise staff at events, assign duties, and provide general direction
•    Plan and execute pre-event marketing
•    Advising on etiquette, tradition and customs.
•    Deep experience and knowledge in various designs of backdrops as well as all types of wedding follower decorations and arrangements
•    liaise with clients to find out their exact event requirements
•    produce detailed proposals for events (including timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets)
•    liaise with sales and marketing teams to publicize and promote the event
•    coordinate suppliers, handle client queries and troubleshoot on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly and to budget
•    manage a team of staff, giving full briefings
•    oversee the dismantling and removal of the event and clear the venue efficiently
•    produce post-event evaluation to inform future events
•    Research opportunities for new clients and events.
•    Keeps a list of equipment necessary for the wedding, e.g. computers, speakers, backdrop, chairs, tables, etc.
•    Delegates responsibilities like ushering, protocol, etc. to team members
•    Make sure restroom facilities are provided at wedding venues.
•    Forging strong relationships with clients and discovering exactly what they want from their wedding and from you as the wedding planner

Requirement, Skills and Knowledge
•    A degree in Marketing, Events Planning, Advertising, Hotel or Hospitality Management, or in other related area
•    Ability to perform various tasks efficiently for the success of the wedding
•    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high pressure work environment
•    Ability to lead a team as well as work as part of a team to produce desired result
•    Strong working knowledge of the different Microsoft Office applications
•    Ability to listen to and understand exactly what clients require and expect for their wedding
•    Strong ability to interact and get along with people from diverse background
•    Exceptionally organized individual with strong ability to pay attention to details
•    Event management experience, including weddings, corporate events, projects, etc.
•    Ability to predict what could go wrong in an event and prevent it from occurring
•    Strong problem solving ability to be able to deal with crisis situations in the course of events
•    Updated knowledge of trends in the wedding industry
•    Demonstrated experience in the areas of videotape production, as well as through knowledge of audio, video and multimedia hardware and software required
•    Must be available to work a non –standard schedule in order to fulfill assigned duties and responsibilities
