Job Description, Duties and Responsibilities

Your job description, duties and responsibilities as the Finance Officer include but not limited to the following:-

a)    Supervise the staff within the Accounts Section of the Company;
b)    Ensure that the accounts office has the modern digital accounting systems that incorporates all the ancillary functions of the company;
c)    In charge of the proper keeping of books of accounts and monthly financial statements;
d)    Provide financial projections to enable/advise the board to effectively conduct its business;
e)    Generate the yearly budget estimates in liaison with all the other departments of the company;
f)    Make the necessary deductions from the staff payroll and make the necessary payments to respective offices, i.e. NSSF, NHIF, PAYE, HELB, DIT, etc;
g)    Prepare payments both in hard copy vouchers and via internet banking;
h)    Ensure that the various bank accounts are reconciled at all times;
i)    Develop and manage an efficient filing system at the various company offices;
j)    Keep records of staff payroll and ensures that monthly pay is approved on time;
k)    Make the necessary payroll for all the farmers and present it for approval on monthly basis;
l)    Update the Board and ensures that the budgetary allocations are adhered to;
m)    Ensure that proper books of accounts are kept at all times;
n)    Team leader on the accounts  section’s health and safety committee;
o)    Make periodical management reports on finance and accounts;
p)    Provide support to internal and external auditors as and when required;
q)    Be the custodian of company cheque books;
r)    Maintain an accurate register of all the company assets at all times;
s)    Appraise the accounts section staff periodically and
t)    Any other duty as may be assigned by the Factory from time to time.

•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills and in particular the respect of other colleagues and customers;
•    A good sense of humour and ability to work under minimal supervision.
