Position: Head Chef
Our client has been in business since May 2009. It is one of the most popular restaurant in Kampala, rated within top 5 dining destination. With more than 300 seating capacity, and banquet facility for upto 500 pax, The Lawns is one of the largest independent restaurant in Kampala.
The restaurant is known for its Game meat dishes and fusion dishes.
• He/she shall be overall in charge of Kitchen and shall be reporting to Managing Director.
• He/she shall be managing day to day operations of Kitchen, including Materials requirement planning, prep work planning, food costing, banquet function planning, special events planning, daily specials planning, training to kitchen staff, supervision & monitoring of kitchen staff, hygiene of kitchen, etc.
• He/she shall be responsible for Menu updation and Recipe control.
• He/she shall be responsible and accountable for overall kitchen performance, and his/her performance shall be evaluated based on customer feedback analysis, food costing and management observations.
• He/she shall have to submit weekly, monthly and quarterly MIS reports to the Management.
Salary Package Salary depends upon experience 1500 USD salary per month, caliber & qualification PLUS:
One way economy air ticket upto Entebbe, Uganda while taking up the job.
Return air ticket once in two years along with 25 days paid leave.
Perks shall include food allowance & medical insurance.
Bonus linked with performance.
Working hours He/she is expected to work from 10 AM in the morning till closing (around mid-night) in the evening with break in the afternoon. The weekly day off shall be either on Monday or Tuesday, or two half days, depending upon the work load.
Qualification & Experience required
• Graduate/ post graduate from reputed University
• Fluency in English
• Hands on expertise in MS Office
• Minimum 10 years of experience in reputed Restaurant/Hotel, with latest position being Head Chef (min. 300 seater capacity)and working in Fine Dinning Restaurant.
• He/she shall have experience of managing restaurant kitchen independently as profit center head
