Head of Brand and Business Development

Job Summary

The role will be responsible for the effective management of the company’s Business Development and oversee marketing, PR and customer service functions.

Job Description

Department:      Business Development
Reports to:       Chief Executive Officer
Supervises:         Branch Managers, Customer Experience Coordinator, Marketing officers

Main Duties:
•    Implementation of Company’s brand and marketing strategy to ensure a vibrant brand
•    Leadership and performance management for Business Development team
•    Ensuring sustained business growth and revenue incomes through management of business development activities
•    Implementation and evaluation of marketing, distribution, advertising and promotion activities
•    Coordinating effective inventory management and practices to ensure sustained product availability
•    Ensure customer retention by monitoring customer satisfaction targets to deliver improved customer experience
•    Coordinating and managing the Company’s events, public relations, communication, CSR and corporate affairs to increase brand equity

Supervisory & Operational responsibilities
•    Provide sound leadership, supervision and management of the staff through performance development, training, mentoring and coaching
•    Ensure compliance with Business Development, Customer Service and Marketing approved budgets including prudent and timely spending of the branches
•    Ensure timely reporting of the departmental performance by managers
•    Ensure compliance of legislation, agreements with clients, highest standards of operational efficiency and quality of service
•    Developing growth strategies and plans
•    Establishing and maintaining relationships with corporate customers and SMEs
•    To improve profitability of the entire company by growing the business through attraction of new customers and new lines of business and introduce new products which come with commission and interest-based income
•    Keeping abreast of current developments and market trends to better identify and serve clients.
•    Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs
•    Researching business opportunities and viable income streams
•    Analyze current market and industry trends and develop overall strategy for branches in liaison with the Managers
•    Formulate and implement policies and practices that are competitive and aligned to SBC’s growth strategies in consultation with line managers
•    Plan and direct brand network activities to achieve short term and long-term performance standards

Business Acquisition & Risk
•    Oversee the Company network growth in business
•    Implement strategies on penetration of business segments, markets and sectors.
•    Ensure growth of liabilities and assets (both volume and quality) business
•    Offer advice on product development and marketing to ensure alignment of products to customer needs and expectations.
•    Provide insights into Business reengineering initiatives and ensure that these are deployed across markets in close partnership with ICT and business development teams
•    Maintain internal control standards, implement and maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring
•    Ensure awareness of operational risk and its mitigation

Performance Measures
•    Business Development and Brand improvement
•    Cost and Efficiency; – ensure delivery processes are efficient and cost effective.
•    Customer Satisfaction; - constantly assess customer feedback and make necessary improvements.
•    Processes and Procedures; – to establish or refine service delivery processes for Springboard Capital Ltd
•    Strategy and policy; help to come up with new strategy for Products, sales and Marketing.
•    Risk & Compliance; - Ensure awareness of operational risk and its mitigation
•    Timely and effective responses to issues arising.
•    Timely and accurate reports

Qualifications & Experience
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Management/ Business Administration from a recognized institution
•    At least 5 years working experience in a Brand and Business Development related role as a manager in the financial industry

•    Deep understanding of off-line and digital media strategy and planning
•    Deep knowledge of marketing methods and strategies
•    Brand awareness- a clear understanding of brands and marketing mix
•    Proficiency in ICT with strong MS Office and internet ability
