The position
As the Head of Finance & Operations at Novo Nordisk, you will be defining and meeting the affiliate’s business objectives in terms of strategy, execution and profit and loss (P&L) statement, by allocating and managing efficiently its resources. You will be reporting to Affiliate VP & General Manager.
Your responsibilities will be to:
• Contribute to the strategic planning and direction of the company. Manage financial reporting and ensure the implementation of all financial aspects of the strategic plan.
• Support quality assurance by reporting safety-related information and customer complaints to the quality department.
• Act in line with ethical standards, quality requirements, local policies, and the Novo Nordisk Way.
• Serve as the Local Diligence Responsible (LDDR). Support logistics to ensure efficient and timely supply of products to distributors.
• Oversee procurement, particularly major indirect spend, excluding promotional material. Manage and motivate a team to achieve business objectives.
Qualifications
To be successful in this position you have to hold a University or similar degree in Finance, MBA, Chartered Accountant (CPA, Expert Compatible, ACCA).
You will have to have the next qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in operations in Africa or a similar region.
• 2-3 years’ experience as a finance manager.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in motivating and leading teams in changing environments.
• Experience managing external firms and contractors.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret financial information.
• Experience working with deadlines and reporting calendars.
• Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and provide useful advice and input across the company.
• Proficiency in English and basic French.

This includes preparing, collecting, and interpreting financial information; preparing budgets, reports, forecasts, and statutory returns; managing the organisation’s taxation affairs; and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
