Job Location: Nairobi, Kenya (On-site)

As the HR Coordinator you will be expected to effectively manage all human resource procedures, be passionate about recruiting, supporting, and evolving employees through the company’s guidelines, and managing effective management of the set processes and procedures.

The HR Coordinator is also the custodian of all processes and policies within our ISO Environment, that govern people operations thus has a key mandate to ensure high operating standards are maintained at all times in support of business goals and objectives.

Job Responsibilities:
As the HR coordinator you shall be directly accountable for:

Talent Management
• Liaise with the leadership team to develop resource plans and budgets for respective periods - this includes using performance metrics to identify any skills/competency gaps
• Recruitment & Selection as per the company policy and best practices
• Manage candidate database to support shortest recruitment turnaround times
• Design and implement effective induction and orientation of new joiners
• Develop and implement career plans to drive both personal and career growth for staff members
• Identify succession planning needs and liaises with the leadership team on the appropriate plans
• Ensure departmental meetings are held effectively and accordingly
• Work with the leadership team to design employee engagement plans/activities that will drive performance and productivity

Training & Development
• Perform periodical training needs analysis that will inform the training budget and calendar
• Designing and implementing an effective training and development calendar
• Track and report on the impact of training and any challenges to be addressed
• Work with relevant product managers to understand the respective immediate requirements for certifications and plan for execution

Performance Management
• Review job descriptions for new joiners and ensure relevance
• Review and revise key result areas/performance metrics
• Performing quarterly and annual employee performance reviews/appraisals
• Monthly productivity tracking and reporting through the respective tools (Key Result Areas / Balanced Score Card)
• Develop performance improvement plans accordingly to ensure results are being achieved

HR Administration and Policies & Procedures Implementation
• Driving implementation and sustenance of ISO standards – departmental procedures and objectives to deliver overall efficiency and effectiveness of operations
• Implementing, and evaluating all human resource department policies, procedures, and structures
• Ensuring all employee records are maintained and updated with new hire information or changes in employment status both hard and digital copies
• Facilitate monthly payroll processing by providing updates, changes and notifications to the relevant stakeholders
• Developing and tracking HR & Admin department budgets
• Ensuring the employees’ queries are responded to and resolving all matters in a timely and professional manner
• Providing daily, weekly, and monthly reports on general HR activities
• Undertaking all internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests
• Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices

Candidate Qualifications / Minimum Requirements
• Bachelors' Degree in Human Resource Management (Bcomm / Bsc / BA - Second Class Honors - Upper Division)
• Membership with IHRM (currently valid)
• At least 3 years’ relevant (hands-on) working experience in a similar role (or HR Officer in a structured environment)
• Highly organized and good at strategy implementation
• Working knowledge of performance tools such as Balanced Score Card and productivity measures for business operations
• Knowledge of ISO Standards, working environments/procedures
• Ability to manage and integrate with cross-functional teams
• Highly adaptable to a dynamic work environment
• Excellent communication skills
