Our client, in the Automotive industry is seeking to recruit a Human Resource Manager.

  • Experience Length: 7 years

Job Description/Requirements

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing leadership of the human resource function and be responsible for people strategy, talent management, capacity building, culture transformation and organization effectiveness. He/she Must have at least 7 years’ experience working in the same position in the Automotive with 2 years in a management position.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Establish annual HR work plan, set priorities, monitor work progress and ensure results are achieved according to schedule and set standards.
•    Developing and executing the Human Resource strategy in line with the company strategic focus, including talent attraction and retention and organizational development.
•    Proposing and overseeing human resource budget and headcount, ensuring optimal staffing levels and manpower requirements.
•    Ensure the talent that is recruited have competencies and behaviors which are aligned to the organization culture and brand promise.
•    Overseeing the implementation of the Performance Management System by developing a performance driven culture which also ensures employee growth through empowerment.
•    Drive the implementation of the performance management cycle right from target setting to appraisals.
•    Developing, implementation and management of a succession planning strategy that focuses on building an effective talent pipeline which addresses current and future business needs.
•    Advice the management on HR policy matters including reorganization, restructuring and organizational development.
•    Spearhead culture change and transformation and promote a high-performance culture across the Organization.
•    Design, direct and manage a process of organization development that addresses. issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management.
•    Ability to create interventions which knits together the organization towards one core focus area - delivering value to customers (internal and external).
•    Maintain high morale through open, honest and consistent communication and meetings with employees.
•    Developing and monitoring adherence to human resource policies and procedures.
•    Focus on developing managers and employees to foster a collaborative culture.
•    Partner with line managers to create good industrial relations operating environment for business.
•    Conduct regular employee engagement surveys, analyze feedback and implement action items.
•    Act as a link between the company and outside partners in Industrial Relations management.
•    Participate in CBA negotiations through the Motor Trade Body.
•    Drive dispute resolution, grievance handling, employee counseling, disciplinary and separation.
•    Oversee compliance to occupational health and safety of the organization.
•    Oversee the organization capacity enhancement through continuous learning and development.
•    Identify skills gaps in the organization through training needs analysis.
•    Develop the annual curriculum for the organization and ensure adherence to the schedule.

•    Must have a relevant bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management.
•    Must be a member of IHRM Kenya.
•    In-depth knowledge of labor laws, HR processes and people management skills.
•    Must at least 7 years’ experience work in a similar position with 2 years in a management position.
•    Must be customer oriented.
•    Must be a problem solver.
•    Must have strong presentation skills.

Monthly Gross Salary: Ksh. 200,000 /= (Approx. 2,000 USD) depending on individual skills and experience).
Career Level: Upper Mid-Level Management.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma Certificate.
Location: Nairobi, Kenya.
