ICU Nurse - Locum

We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and highly motivated Locum ICU Nurse to support the delivery of high-quality critical care services. The successful candidate will provide safe, patient-centered nursing care to critically ill patients while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
  
• Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to changes in their condition.
  
• Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and other prescribed treatments accurately and safely.
  
• Operate and monitor critical care equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors.
  
• Assist in emergency procedures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced life support interventions.
  
• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive patient documentation.
  
• Collaborate with doctors, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  
• Educate patients' families on patient progress and provide emotional support where appropriate.
  
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control protocols, hospital policies, and professional nursing standards.
  

Qualifications and Experience

• 
  
• Higher Diploma or specialized training in Critical Care Nursing will be an added advantage
  
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  
• Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya with a valid practising licence.
  
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is highly desirable.
  
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience working in an Intensive Care Unit.
  
• Sound knowledge of critical care nursing practices and operation of ICU equipment.
