IT & Data Support Assistant

Job Summary

The role is an entry to mid-level role and will mainly consist of general IT maintenance, troubleshooting and managing of related solutions with service providers either directly or indirectly through senior staff.

Job Description/Requirements

We are company based in Mombasa involved in the export of tea. We are looking for an individual that is dynamic and self-motivated who can work with minimal supervision. The individual should have good communication skills to both manage and train staff on general IT matters and report updates to senior staff above them.

The individual will be required to:
•    Troubleshoot, Install, and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners.
•    Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
•    Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests
•    Provide orientation to personnel on existing and technology upgrades
•    Provide technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone)
•    Setting up accounts for new users
•    Repair and replace equipment as necessary
•    Maintain inventory of IT equipment and list of required repairs and maintenance
•    Maintenance of business application software’s and its upgrades
•    Ensure company data backups are done and maintained
•    Manage company server
•    Maintain hardware data and advice when due for disposal
•    Schedule maintenance of the server, printers, computers etc and maintain records
•    Liaise with internet service providers
•    Perform any other duties as maybe assigned by the management.

Skills/Qualifications required:
•    IT related qualifications and experience related to Microsoft products (Office and Windows) and computing hardware and networks
•    Understanding and experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 erp will be an added advantage
•    Understanding of Internet, intranet systems and LAN/WAN infrastructure
•    Exposure to Enterprise Endpoint security solutions
•    Ability to analyse logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems and maintain efficiency.
