As we expand our network, we are looking to recruit a dynamic individual who assist the team in achieving their mandate. Details of the position are outlined below.

POSITION: IT OPERATIONS MANAGER

ROLE PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to oversee and coordinate all aspects of the organization's IT infrastructure and operations, including data center/cloud infrastructure and applications, network administration, cyber security, client environment configuration and engineering, and tier 1, 2, and 3 support. The role involves planning, organizing, and managing infrastructure teams and/or consultants to maintain a stable and secure environment.

THE MAIN DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES 

1.1 Lead and guide the IT Operations team to drive the technical and process aspects of projects and create innovative solutions to meet morphing business needs and challenges.

1.2 Drive innovation, leverage technology trends, and provide infrastructure services that create business value and meet the expectations of the organization.

1.3 Lead and oversee the management of key elements of the organization's infrastructure and technology projects, including data centre operations, mobility and remote access, wireless networks, messaging systems, active directory integration, WAN, software-defined networking, and end-user computing solutions.

1.4 Ensure the optimal performance and maintenance of all network hardware, equipment, and security solutions, including routers, switches, firewalls, anti-virus software, and intrusion detection systems.

1.5 Monitor and maintain network stability, analyse performance metrics, and upgrade software as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.

1.6 Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and ensure compliance with RPOs and RTOs during business continuity events.

1.7 Contribute to the development and implementation of the IT department's strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business goals and objectives.

1.8 Source and manage third-party vendors for hardware, software, and telecommunications services, and evaluate potential solutions through RFPs/RFIs.

1.9 Monitor emerging trends and risks in technology and the market and develop strategies to ensure the organization's infrastructure remains agile and cost-effective.

1.10 Offer expert advice on new infrastructure and EUC services and technologies that can enhance the efficiency and capabilities of the organization.

1.11 Manage the lifecycle and inventory of infrastructure assets and related documentation and maintain control over operational costs through near- and long-term financial forecasting.

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Technical expertise in hardware, software and ICT networks.

• Robust understanding and application of current and emerging ICT technologies.

• Project Management – experience in prioritizing and managing multiple technology projects.

• Strong problem-solving skills. 

• Proficient in communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 

• Experience leading, managing and developing an IT team.

• Knowledge of data privacy and security standards and best practices.

• Strong business acumen.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience managing enterprise IT operations.

• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CCNA/CISA/CISM/ITIL/).
