Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities
•    Manage farmers’ selection and recruitment as per laid down company policy and procedures and prevailing Tea regulations
•    Maintain an up to date farmer’s database
•    Continuous monitoring and review of the green leaf production levels and targets.
•    Ensure precise forecast of green leaf availability to meet current and future factory requirements
•    Design, foresee implementation and continuous improvement of department’s management programs
•    Manage Rainforest Alliance audits for Out-growers and follow up on corrective measures.
•    Design and continuously improve programmes and initiatives aimed at helping out-grower farmers acquire the resources, inputs, skills, and capabilities necessary to improve farm utilization, yield, and tea production
•    Liaising with all key stakeholders on the success of the out-grower programme, including but not limited to donors, government agencies, financiers, input suppliers, the community, and the out-growers
•    Addressing farmers issues such as complaints, new ideas
•    Track, monitor and report on the activities and environmental and socio-economic impact of the out-grower program
•    Manage departmental budget and policy decision making

Qualifications & Experiences
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture preferably Extension Services from a recognized institution
•    Diploma in Agriculture/ Extension Services will be an added advantage
•    Good knowledge of Quality, SEMS and Food Safety Management systems
•    At least four (4) years’ relevant experience (Tea industry or other agronomic practices)
•    Computer literacy, Team player, Good communications skills, Negotiation Skills, and high   levels of integrity
