8. Natural Resources Management Officer JG K (1 POSITION) VACANCY NO: 155/2020
Terms of Service : Permanent and Pensionable
Basic Salary : Kshs. 38,270 p.m. – 51,170 p.m.
House Allowance : Kshs. 7,500 p.m.
Commuter Allowance : Kshs. 5,000 p.m.

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
i. Bachelor’s Degree in natural resource management; Environmental Resource Conservation, Environmental Studies and Community Development, Environmental Studies or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution; and
ii. Certificate in Computer Applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
i. Translate the strategic direction of the Natural Resources Management Directorate into operational pieces of work;
ii. Plan, organize and control multiple responsibilities and resources to achieve objectives of the directorate in an effective manner;
iii. Map all the natural resources within the County;
iv. Drive the exploration and exploitation of natural resources within the County;
v. Develop a legal and regulatory framework to guide the natural resources management;
vi. Provide technical expertise to all NRM components of the project, assuring technical quality control of interventions,
vii. Conduct and lead strategic analysis (e.g., stakeholder, political, extractives) for the County to understand ecosystem and priorities for intervention.
viii. Plan, organize and control multiple responsibilities and resources to achieve objectives of the directorate in an effective manner.
ix. Coordinate the licensing of all minerals and others resources exploration and exploitation;
x. Develop policies and procedures to sustainably manage natural resources management;
xi. Develop and implement the inter-departmental strategy on natural resources management and conservation;
xii. Provide mitigating and lasting solutions to human-wildlife conflicts;
xiii. Collect and collate data and information related to natural resources management and advise on their sustainable use; and
xiv. Implement and evaluate strategic plans on natural resources and protection.
