Job Description/Requirements

Kenya Leather Development Council (KLDC) is a State Corporation established by the Government of Kenya under the Kenya Leather Development Council Order, 2011 (Legal Notice No. 1 14 of 9th September, 201 1), under the State Cor-porations Act (Cap. 4 4 6), Laws of Kenya, to provide leadership and policy direction in regulation, production processing and marketing in leather industry so as to promote equitable development and poverty reduction.

Pursuant to this objective, the Council is seeking to recruit qualified officers for the positions of:

Position : Office Administrative Assistant

Reporting to : Manager Human Resource & Administration
Job Grade : KLDC 8

Job Purpose:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for general office administration, handling enquiries, receiving and attending to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
(i) Attending to visitors/clients;
(ii) Managing office protocol and etiquette;
(iii) Maintaining office diary and travel itineraries;
(iv) Preparing responses to routine correspondences;
(v) Operating office equipment to include photocopying, printing;
(vi) Typing from drafts, manuscripts or recording dictation.
(vii) Management of e-office equipment.
(viii) Management of office protocol and office petty cash.
(ix) Ensuring security of office records, documents (including classified material) and equipments.
(x) An officer at this position may be required to work for more than one officer.

Job Specification:
For appointment to this grade a candidate must: -

(i) Bachelors Degree in Secretarial Studies or Bachelor of Business and Office Management or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
(ii) Have a minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience;
(iii) A Certificate in Computer Applications (Windows, Ms-Word, Ms-Excel, Ms- PowerPoint, Ms-Access and Internet) from a recognized institution.
(iv) Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Interested candidates are expected to fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya. Specifically, they mist obtain and submit with their application, copies of the following:
1. Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
2. Clearance/Compliance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
3. Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority
4. Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
5. Clearance from recognized Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
