The client
Our client is a is a dynamic and fast-growing food delivery startup, committed to revolutionizing the way people access and enjoy their favorite meals. They are dedicated to providing our customers with convenient, reliable, and delightful food delivery services, and are looking for a talented Operations Manager to join our team and help drive the mission of the company.
Job Purpose:
As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day management, strategic planning, and efficient administration of our food delivery business. You will be responsible for shaping the company’s future, optimizing its operations, and driving it toward sustainable growth and success. This role is particularly critical as the company is new to the market, and your leadership will be instrumental in achieving the company’s objectives.
Main responsibilities for the role include;
• Business Planning and Strategy: Develop and execute the company’s strategic plan, setting clear objectives and key results (OKRs) to guide the team towards achieving our vision.
• Continuously assess market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer preferences to adapt and refine the strategy.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, consistency, and quality in our food delivery services. Streamline processes, optimize resource allocation, and implement best practices to enhance the customer experience.
• Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing operational team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and develop team members to achieve their full potential.
• Financial Management: Manage the company’s budget, control costs, and monitor financial performance. Identify opportunities to drive revenue growth and maximize profitability.
• Vendor and Partner Management: Collaborate with food suppliers, restaurant partners, and delivery drivers to maintain strong and mutually beneficial relationships. Negotiate and manage contracts to ensure service quality and reliability.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about and ensure compliance with local and national regulations governing food delivery services.
• Customer Satisfaction: Prioritize customer satisfaction by proactively addressing issues, improving service quality, and enhancing the overall customer experience.
• Technology Integration: Collaborate with the technology team to ensure the efficient functioning of the food delivery app, making it user-friendly, reliable, and feature-rich.
Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in business administration or a related field (MBA preferred).
• A minimum of 5 years experience of senior management experience, preferably in the food delivery industry or a related field.
• Experience in working in ecommerce industry is preferred.
• Proven success in developing and executing business strategies that have led to significant growth.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and guide diverse workforce.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial analysis.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
