Our client in the financial services industry seeks to hire an experienced and solutions-oriented Operations Manager.

Job Description/Requirements

Location: Juba, South Sudan

Reporting: to the General manager 


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Improve Operational Management Systems, Processes and Best Practices
  • Manage staff levels, wages, hours, contract labor to revenues;
  • Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees under the group;
  • Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions;
  • Plan and review compensation actions.
  • Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends;
  • Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Develop, implement, enforce, and evaluate operations policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving supplies, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping;
  • Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes;
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations;
  • Meet or exceed operations labor budget expectations;
  • Run a safe, injury/accident free workplace;
  • Responsible for all aspects of vehicle and heavy equipment rentals and in-house fleet management;
  • Establish contracts and pricing and ensuring proper maintenance and serving as primary liaison with utilities and local government agencies, such as fire, police, health, and safety agencies;
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Track vendor pricing, rebates, and service levels;
  • Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment;
  • Serve as primary point of contact when there are customer issues related to quality of service, or accidents and mishaps on-site.
  • Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints;
  • Work closely with GM and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation;
  • Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings;
  • Work closely with the inventory manager and team to perform analysis of our inventory and ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively, purchasing the right supplies, maintaining solid inventory data, and reduce sub-rental expenses;
  • Provide weekly/Monthly operations reports
  • Communicate with legal counsel and safety department to ensure all processes remain compliant with health and safety regulations and other governmental regulations; and
  • Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.


Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations management.
  • Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set operational goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field required;
  • Certification in the related field
  • 4+ years of related experience required.
  • Must have experience working in the financial services industry e.g. banks, microfinances 
  • Must be willing to relocate to Juba

  • Must have a valid Passport
  • Must have a valid Covid-19 vaccination certificate
