Job Description/Requirements

JOB DESCRIPTION
1.    POSITION TITLE
    :    PAL Operations Officer
2.    REPORTS TO    :    Head of PAL

3.    BASIC FUNCTION
This position is responsible for the operational and logistical function for the parts, accessories and lubricants department. The role also entails responsibility and support for supply chain functions within the parts accessories and lubricants department.

4.    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
a)    Inventory management; stock reviews and optimisation.
b)    Order preparation and maintenance of ordering files.
c)    Order and shipment tracking in line with respective supply partner timelines.
d)    Product cost and price monitoring with review proposals.
e)    Coordination of the introduction of new product lines.
f)    Supply partner relationship management.
g)    Analysis of prospective new supply partnerships, including product range and pricing.
h)    Supply partner reporting where applicable.
i)    Coordination with internal stake holders for optimised distribution logistics.
j)    Coordination and operational responsibility of new product range additions

•    Inventory analysis report
•    Ordering and order tracking reports
•    Supply partner reports
•    Cost and pricing analysis report

6.    KEY COMPETENCES
a)    Interpersonal skills, collaborative with colleagues and customer-centric
b)    Ability to analyse information and generate reports – Strong analytical & reporting skills.
c)    Knowledge of supply chain management
d)    Results oriented - Entrepreneurial & commercial thinking.
e)    Willingness to learn & affinity for continuous improvement.
f)    Adaptability and ability to cope with pressure.
g)    Proficiency in online automotive cataloging systems.
h)    Keen interest in automotive and parts industry.

7.    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
•    A bachelor’s degree in a business or engineering related course preferably supply chain, mechanical, automotive, statistics, information systems, commerce etc.
•    Knowledge of the auto parts industry, supply chain and parts cataloging.
•    Computer literacy in MS Office packages especially Excel and web-based applications.
