Job Description/Requirements

The Institute of Energy Studies and Research is seeking to recruit facilitators/lecturers for diploma, craft certificate and professional courses on part time basis. Candidates with requisite qualifications to handle the following areas are invited to apply.

a. Distribution Power System Design and Commissioning
b. Power System Management and Operations
c. Power System Protection
d. Cable Jointing and Termination
e. LV line Construction & Maintenance
f. HV Transmission Line Design; Construction and Maintenance
g. Power System Studies using either PSSE, Dig-Silent, NEplan or ETAP
h. Enterprise Resource planning (SAP, IMS, DCS, FDB, INCMS)
i. Substation Design; Equipment Installation and Maintenance
j. Diesel Generator Operation and Maintenance
k. Electric Motor Rewinding
l. Switch Gear Operation and Maintenance
m. Energy Management
n. Energy Audits
o. Wave and Tidal Energy
p. System Control
q. Asset Management for Utilities
r. SCADA in Power Systems
s. GIS & Mobile Communication for Utilities

Requirements for Professional Courses Facilitators/Lecturers

Candidates should have the following minimum qualifications:

• Mastery of the relevant field
• Registration as a Safety Advisors, Fire auditors and/or First Aid Trainers,
• Proficiency in Fire Alarm Systems Operations and Maintenance
• At least three years’ work or Teaching experience in the area of specialization

• Relevant degree/academic qualification

Retired KPLC staff who specialized in the areas above and can be available on part time basis are encouraged to apply indicating their KPLC region of interest.
