A. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, LIVESTOCK AND FISHERIES
1. Principal Livestock Production Officer (JOB GROUP CPSB 06) (2 POSTS)
(In charge of Animal Production, Range Management and Agribusiness and Value Addition Livestock Production) The Principal Officers will be County Subject Matter Specialists (SMSs) in Animal Production, Rangeland Management and Development and Agribusiness and Value Addition at the County Headquarters. They will be responsible to the County Director of Livestock Production.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Provide technical assistance in the relevant Sections (Animal Production, Rangeland Management and Development, Agribusiness, Value Addition, Apiculture and emerging Livestock at the County Headquarters.
ii. Backstopping and monitoring of Livestock Production activities at Sub-County Level.
iii. Assist in the implementation of National and County Livestock Programmes at Sub-County Level.
iv. Compiling Livestock Production Data from Sub-Counties, analyzing it and maintain the data base.
v. Participation in planning and budgeting.
vi. Prepare regular and periodic technical reports.
vii. Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the County Director.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
i. Be a holder of at least a first Degree in Animal Production, Range Management, Natural Resource Management and Agribusiness Management, Apiculture and emerging Livestock or any other related Degree from a recognized University.
ii. Have relevant knowledge and experience of not less than five (5) years position in Public Service or Private Sector.
iii. Demonstrate a high degree of Professional and Technical competence as reflected in work performance and results.
iv. Be a strategic thinker and result oriented.
v. Computer Literate.
vi. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity
a) Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation
b) Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
c) Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
d) Clearance from the Ethics &Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
e) Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
